Growing up in Idaho I've always had a love of the outdoors, especially being in the mountains. Even when I was very young, my mother had a hard time keeping me inside. Growing up I fished every chance I could. I also enjoyed camping and hiking but it wasn't until I married into a hunting family that my in-laws introduced me to hunting and fly fishing which quickly became two great passions in my life. It was when I shot my first white tail with my bow, that I knew I was hooked for life. That following year, I was able to get my first black bear and bull elk.
Being in nature and observing various wildlife is such a passion of mine, it is a huge part of who I am. I've had the opportunity to hunt different parts of the U.S. and by doing so, I have been lucky enough to harvest many big game including mountain lion and numerous black bear. What gets me most excited, though is taking out those new to hunting and guiding them. I thoroughly enjoy talking about hunting with anyone and everyone. The hunting camaraderie is hard to beat.
I try to raise my children to respect nature and enjoy wildlife. They are at the age now that I've been able to enjoy watching that passion grow in their heart as it has mine. I've watched their eyes light up as they see that elk step out over the mountain or be so close to a bear that my son can't stop shaking. I've observed their excitement over a hunt and watched them harvest bear, deer, elk and antelope and witness their love of the outdoors growing.
Nature is such a big part of my life, not only do I enjoy observing wildlife but I love capturing those moments with photography. We live in such a stunning world, I enjoy being able to capture the beauty for others to see.
